The Town of Port Royal is easily accessible from the City of Beaufort and Parris Island and surrounded by the Beaufort River and Battery Creek. The Old Village Quarter of greater Port Royal offers a unique blend of a small town atmosphere and beautiful natural settings. It includes working shrimp docks, unique shops and is home to the Lowcountry Estuarium. Nature lovers can stroll the trails of a fresh water wetland bird sanctuary. The Sands Beach has a quarter mile long boardwalk that leads to an observation tower overlooking Battery Creek. There are three annual festivals in Port Royal: The Soft Shell Crab Festival in April, The 4th of July Flying Pig Festival and Oktoberfest in the fall.
